The Office of Public Affairs of the Bahá’ís of India organized an event on the National Youth Day on 12 January, 2025 on the theme “Role of Youth in Social Transformation.” The gathering aimed to explore and highlight the powerful role that young people can play in shaping society. Featuring a diverse panel of speakers from various backgrounds, the event included Firdos Khan, Member of the Delhi Commission for Women and a child rights activist; Sumeet Ankur Singh, Member of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment; Pradeep Kumar, Founder of Learning by Locals; and Pooja Tiwari, Director of the Organisation for Promoting Education and Development. Each speaker offered unique insights into the potential of youth to drive positive societal change.
Through thought-provoking discussions, the event emphasized how young people, with their energy, creativity, and resilience, can act as catalysts for social transformation. The speakers stressed the importance of education, mentorship, and helping youth to resist negative social forces and channel their capacities for constructive change. The event highlighted the need for collaboration between State and non-State agencies and communities to create environments where youth can thrive and lead society towards a brighter future.
